Personal — Guido Calabresi was born in 1932. He began service for the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in 1994, appointed by President William J. Clinton.
Academic — Prior to assuming the bench, Judge Calabresi was Dean and a Professor of Law at Yale Law School from 1985 to 1994. He was a Visiting Professor at Harvard University from 1969 to 1970. Judge Calabresi started teaching in 1959. Guido Calabresi is a Rhodes Scholar.
Clerkships — From 1958 to 1959 Guido Calabresi was Law Clerk to the Honorable Hugo L. Black, Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States.
Education — He received his law degree from Yale Law School in 1958, graduated with a Masters from Oxford in 1959 and a BA from Oxford in 1955. Guido Calabresi completed his undergraduate studies at Yale in 1953.
